Senior DMP Artist

Your Qualifications
5+ years of proven experience as a DMP Artist in commercials, film, or TV
Strong portfolio demonstrating a high level of artistic skill and technical proficiency in creating photorealistic digital matte paintings
Expert knowledge of industry-standard software such as Photoshop, Nuke, Maya and Mari (or equivalent)
Solid understanding of perspective, composition, lighting, colour theory, and atmospheric effects
Strong understanding of multiple aspects of the VFX pipeline
Ability to take direction positively and work well within a team
Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
Experience with 3D projection and camera mapping techniques is an asset
Knowledge of rendering software (e.g., Redshift, Houdini, Karma) is an asset

About You
You are a highly skilled and creative DMP Artist with solid production experience working on a variety of shows, films and commercials. You will be responsible for creating high-quality digital matte paintings and environments, seamlessly integrating them into live-action footage and CG elements. You have a strong understanding of perspective, composition, lighting, and colour, as well as proficiency in industry-standard software.
Your Role
Create photorealistic digital matte paintings for a variety of shots, including environments, set extensions, and atmospheric effects
Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor, Comp Supervisor, and other artists to develop the visual look of the film
Work from concept art, reference images, and on-set photography to create seamless integrations
Maintain consistency in style and quality across all assigned shots
Optimize images for performance and integration within the VFX pipeline
Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work within budget
Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with the technical team
Stay up-to-date with the latest DMP techniques and technologies
Meet project milestones and deadlines on time
Make corrections and adjustments requested by the supervisor

Salary Range: $47.00 – $54.00 per hour.
This range denotes the minimum and maximum compensation limits for this role within the province of British Columbia, adhering to local legal requirements. It’s essential to recognize that the salary range for this position may vary when compared to markets outside of British Columbia, with potential variations in both lower and higher figures. The base pay offered is contingent upon factors including internal equity assessments and elements such as the candidate’s geographic location, job-related expertise, skills, experience, and other pertinent qualifications.
